Before you begin printing we have 5 easy steps to ensure you get perfect labels every time.
1) Fan the sheets before placing them into a printer 2) Always read the printer manual before printing on self adhesive 3) Ensure you are using the correct paper tray, usually By pass tray or tray 1 4) Tell the printer you are about to print on labels, This can be done by going to the printer properties menu and selecting paper type. Usually there will be an option for labels if not choose thick paper. 5) After use ensure they go back into the plastic bag you took them from, this helps to keep the labels flat and dry.
If you follow the steps above and still have issues please take a look at the questions and answers. If your still having difficulty please feel free to call us on 0845 450 1580
Q) My labels wont feed into my laser printer A) Ensure you are using the by pass tray, labels require the flattest path possible to print. On laser printers there is usually a tray at the front which can drop down and a small number of sheets can be placed. Also ensure you read the printer manual on tips on how to print labels. Each printer is different.
Q) My labels wont feed into my inkjet printer A) Ensure you only place a few sheets in the printer at any one time. Inkjet printers are not made to hold many sheets
Q) My labels are printing by the toner from my laser printer is not sticking to the sheet A) This is probably because the settings are wrong on your software so the printer thinks its printing on normal paper and not labels. Go to File Print, then the printer menu will appear, Click properties next to the selected printer and inside that menu you should be able to change the paper type to labels. when you change the settings it actually slows down the printer and reduces the temperature inside the machine so will enable the print to adhere correctly. If you go to print on paper again afterwards don't forget to change the settings back.
Q) My printer is getting very hot when i print. A) We advise that you are probably printing too many sheets at one time. Printers get hot when printing even on paper.
Q) My labels are not printing in the correct place. A) Check your margins on the artwork different software packages have different ways of checking this so refer to software help or manual.
Q) My labels are curling up when they have been printed A) Ensure the printer setting are set to labels as they will print at a lower temperature. Also if your using a laser printer open the back tray (if it has one) this allows for the flattest possible path.
Q) The toner seems to be missing in places on the labels once printed. A) Ensure you are only feeing the sheets once and Never feeding sheets with labels removed. The silicon on the bottom sheet may be transferring to the printer rollers or fuser thus transferring silicon to the face paper and preventing toner sticking to the sheet.
