There
are a number of ways to set up your text or artwork to print on labels, the
market leader of Format sizes is *Avery Dennison, their formats can be found on
all popular software packages including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Publisher
etc. If you prefer to use Avery's very own design and print software this can

We offer *Avery compatible labels, the sizes, shapes and
position are in the same format but Labels Direct typically charge between
£3.99 and £6.99 for 100 sheets (white permanent). Big brands will charge around
£24.99 to £39.99 for 100 sheets.

From
our experience we find that the setting of the artwork is usually the hardest
part but from time to time we do get calls from customers who experience with
printing on labels. The few easy steps below can help ensure you get perfectly
printed labels every time.
1. ALWAYS read the manual and feed the sheets
correctly.
A self adhesive label sheet is NOT 80gsm paper. --- It is a laminate of a face
and release paper.
Most printer manufacturers will advise in the user manual The Correct Path /
Setting.
Please see below Examples of ‘Bypass' or ‘Manual Path' Tray in feeds . For
inkjet printers only place a few sheets in the sheet feeder at any one time
(this helps prevents jamming)
2. NEVER USE THE BULK CASSETTE (applies to laser
printers) for self adhesive sheets.
This
is not recommended by printer manufacturers as the weight of the laminate is
typically too heavy.
CONTINUED USE of the bulk cassette trays for self adhesive may result in damage
to your printer.
3. Always feed the Label sheets NARROW edge in or
PORTRAIT
Our labels are manufactured with the grain direction ( long ) which will
naturally give structural strength.
Long grain aids problem free printing and allows high speeds use. If you wish
to feed your labels Wide edge lead due to high volumes being printed Let us know
we can make them this way.
4. NEVER feed sheets through twice or with missing labels. The silicon liner
may effect the drum inside nor machine (laser printers)
5. Set the printers "properties" to "labels".
This will give the correct fusing temperature and speed of processing through
your printer. This tells the printer that it is printing on a thicker stock
than usual paper, it also slows down the printer and decreases the temperature
as the paper face is closer to the fuser / nozzles inside the printer.
